August 5, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Playwright-director-actor Srijit Mukherjee is ready with his latest cinematic venture Autograph, which is likely to hit the theaters in September 2010. Srijit has a rich treasure of experience in professional Bengali and English stage theaters.
The director, who is an economist by education, is very passionate about acting and that may be because of his parents, who were theater actors. According to the director, Autograph is an attempt to pay tribute to Satyajit Ray's movie Nayak,which starred the legendary Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore.
Mahendra Soni and Shrikant Mohta of Shree Venkatesh Films have produced the movie, which stars renowned actor, Prosenjit Chatterjee, actress Nandana Sen and Indraneil Sengupta. Autograph is a moving tale of three people, one of whom is a young aspiring director, who longs to remake Nayak.
The plot of the much-awaited movie revolves around the three characters: a young director, a theater actress and a superstar and how their life changes forever after coming together during the process of making the movie.
