George Clooney is perhaps one of those leading men of Hollywood who have a killer god looks and a big heart to go with it that makes women swoon all over him. Clooney has always been at the forefront of charitable events and tried to help out people all over the world. Thanks to his altruistic nature, George will be honored at the upcoming 62nd Emmys.
George is going to receive the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences fourth Bob Hope Humanitarian Award during Sunday's Emmy. The 62nd Emmy will be special day for George as he gets the coveted award. According to John Schaffner, chairman and CEO of the Television Academy, "George was an obvious choice for this honor".
Schaffner further said that George has understood and harnessed the power of television to reach the hearts of people all over the world including the people in Darfur. George has always been there for his countrymen and whenever the need arose. He raised funds for September 11 victims, Hurricane Katrina survivors and now his new Organization Hope for Haiti is trying to raise money to help people affected by the earthquake. George Clooney really deserves this award and our best wishes go out to this benevolent actor.
